New Book In Cozy Mystery Series About Unhuman Inspector Hobbes by Wilkie Martin

Inspector Hobbes and the Gold Diggers is the third book in the unhuman comedy crime fantasy series of humorous cozy mysteries by Wilkie Martin set in the Cotswolds and released 30 September 2014.

Inspector Hobbes and the Gold Diggers by Wilkie Martin

Cirencester writer Wilkie Martin continues the exciting comedy crime fantasy adventures of Inspector Hobbes with Inspector Hobbes and the Gold Diggers, the third book in his unhuman series. The still disaster-prone Andy Caplet continues to narrate his adventures with police detective Inspector Hobbes as they take a well-earned holiday in the Blacker Mountains where Andy discovers a skeleton, the last remains of his new love interest’s husband. Back in the sleepy Cotswold town of Sorenchester Andy tries to make sense of Hobbes’s investigation into a gold-robbery at Grossman’s Bank, managed by a soup eating vampire, and sees Hobbes nearly floored by an unexpected American visitor.

Once again I was transported into another world where the characters are interesting and build in tandem with the story line. This author has become one of my favorites as he uses his characters to showcase a dry wit in tense situations. No one character leaves the story unscathed by this rapier like wit’ (Koeur’s Book Reviews http://koeur.wordpress.com/2014/09/29/review-inspector-hobbes-and-the-gold-diggers-by-wilkie-martin/)

Inspector Hobbes and the Gold Diggers is published by The Witcherley Book Company. It is available in paperback and eBook from all major online retailers. Wilkie Martin and his book Inspector Hobbes and the Blood

Memorable and engaging characters take Inspector Hobbes and the Blood by Wilkie Martin to the Top 2 position on Amazon in the US.

PRLog (Press Release)Apr. 23, 2014CIRENCESTER, U.K.Inspector Hobbes and the Blood by Cirencester author Wilkie Martin is the first in his unhuman series of humorous mysteries. It has reached the number 2 position in Amazon.com’s Comedy bestseller category for Kindle books. It has also featured as the Top 14 book for British Detectives and Top 27 for Cozy Mysteries.

Wilkie said ‘my publisher, The Witcherley Book Company, ran a small promotion on the books and I’m delighted with the results, especially in the USA. The main character in the books was inspired by Alan Titchmarch’s portrayal of a Neanderthal during a documentary. The books narrator, Andy Caplet, fills the same role as Dr Watson in Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Homes stories since the eponymous Hobbes is so different it provides the reader with a way into his character, although Andy has far more character flaws than Dr Watson.’

It is set in the Cotswolds and is a story of murder, mayhem and missing violins, introducing a cast of memorable and engaging characters, who also feature in the following book, Inspector Hobbes and the Curse.

Cotswold Life’s Katie Jarvis reviewed the book as ‘odd, inventive, and genuinely very funny indeed’ and other reviews love the characters and humour, demanding more in the series.  The third book Inspector Hobbes and the Root of All Evil is planned for publication later this year.  They are suitable for anyone with a quirky sense of humor, from teenagers upwards. The first two books in the unhuman series are available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback. Wilkie’s profile on Amazon has links to the books http://www.amazon.com/Wilkie-Martin/e/B00CJ01NTG. The paperbacks are also available from other online retailers, or to order from bookshops.
